Jane Eppel studied printmaking at UCT, graduating in 2001, but her path has since been circuitous, finding herself at times a painter, a jeweller and a collaborator with her husband, artist Nic Bladen. Jane’s etchings have been exhibited widely in South Africa, most notably at the Everard Read Gallery. She’s also exhibited her prints in New York and London.
After a four year hiatus in art making due to motherhood, Jane has returned to etching, albeit at a different pace. Deeply autobiographical, Jane’s work uses motifs from nature to represent the push and pull of events in her life.
